At 9.30pm on Wednesday July 2nd, The Hockey Show is BACK on your television screens for Season 2008…..so put this in your diary’s folks. None of this penciling in stuff…like full on, black permanent texta…and get ready to be entertained for 13 weeks…Hockey Show style.
This year we aim to capitalize on the hype surrounding the Beijing Olympics and are damn excited about the possibilities!!
With your help, the gang hope that this season will be the best ever, so we are asking for your suggestions for segments and things you’d like to see on the show this year, so get a “commenting” and let us know what you want to see!
Keep Dribblin’

Hi Alex,
Previously, the seasons have varied in length each year.
26 episodes the first year.
24 episodes the second year.
17 episodes last year.
13 episodes this year.
cheers.

sounds like you’re getting lazy Ballza.

A decision was made at the end of last year to reduce the length of The Hockey Show’s on-air season. It was done for a number of reason, none of which include laziness Max.
By shortening the season it allows us to do much more preparation for the show and hopefully create what we thing will be a superior programme. It also allows us to put more energy and resource into projects such as the online offering which is an ongoing effort on all our behalves. And one that we think long term will add greater value to our sponsors and the community long term.
From a sustainability view-point, a pragmatic decision had to be made also in order to keep the show functioning. While the popularity of the show and interest from sponsors is on the increase the amount of free (volunteer) time the crew contributes is becoming less and less abundant.
We’d all love to have the show running the full length of the season, but as we physically make no income from the show (all our sponsorship dollars go back into production costs), it’s simply not feasible.
We’d certainly encourage passionate people like yourself MAX to get involved and help to keep the show going from strength to strength.
thanks mate,
gus

Gus I’m sure you recognised the facetious nature of my comment.
You lads do a super job. I was however wondering when you’ll be putting your ginger mug on the screen? If Ballza’s head isn’t too offensive for television then I’m sure yours should get a pass too. Whats the hold up Gus? Step into the spotlight where you were born to be.

…hold on to your hats Max…the ginge tinge’s debut is only moments away on our first “WEBISODE”….

Wow!!! Massive news!!! You guys are so very all over this internerd thing. I still think you should get his dial on the television. If cinema is the silver screen, what is television and thus what is a computer screen?

I am in the outer east of Melb. How do I see the show is it on the net?

Hi Helen,
The show hasn’t started yet, but when it does it should stream online through Channel 31′s online video service.
If its not working for them, we’ll certainly get i t up and running through our own website!
cheers
