We were very saddened this week to learn that Jesse Foster passed away on Monday. Jesse was a talented player from the outset, beginning his junior hockey with Camberwell Hockey Club. He played at the club for many years, and went on to win 2 State League One premierships with Camberwell. He also represented Victoria in a number of underage teams, and was selected in a Redbacks squad. Jesse finished his career as a player/coach at TEM Hockey Club.
Above and beyond the hockey player was a guy with a laid-back style and sharp wit. He made friends across the hockey community. A number of us at The Hockey Show were lucky enough to have Jesse as a team-mate and a friend over the years. We are shocked by his death, and he will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and condolences go out to his brother, Julian, parents Matt and Wendy, and other family and friends who are suffering this tragic loss.
The notice below is from yesterday’s newspaper.
